Video Game Systems
Are you one of those arcade nuts? You know the ones that hit the local video game dives everyday to play the latest race car games, and mortal death fight challenges. I can remember back in the day when I used to do this. It was all about the local mall. My best friend and I couldn't wait to get over there and play Mortal Combat. Yes indeed, that one was all the rage back in the early 90s. God knows how many quarters I put into that machine. The truth is I don't want to know. It's kind of like when I would tell customers how much they had spent on video rentals so far. This was always amusing for me. At first they would wince; then maybe snicker at the ridiculousness of it all, but finally they simply went home ticked off. In reality some of them actually wanted their money back. People are funny this way. What they don't know won't hurt them. Well, most of the time anyway. Regardless, when it comes to arcades and video game systems, America was hooked long ago. The only difference now days is that the video game systems for the home have gotten much better.
Have you noticed that the local arcades aren't too packed anymore? In fact, they may not even exist. The reality is that most kids are investing in video game systems of their own these days. Anything from XBox to Sony Playstation 2 is in full swing. Why venture out to the local arcades and spend all your cash on video games, when you can simply acquire a system of your own for free at Christmas or birthday time? With today's phenomenal technology, personal video game systems are the best way to go. You can play your favorite game for hours and it never gets old. In comparison to the stuff we had when I was a kid, it's hard not to stare in awe at the contemporary video game systems. The first contraption we owned when I was in elementary school was an Atari. Man were those graphics amazing. I often wondered if they were actually developed by children. They did resemble many of the drawings I would encounter in the 1st grade hallway. Then later down the road, video game systems evolved to Nintendo. I finally got one of these in the sixth grade. It was outstanding. A huge step up from Asteroids. Regardless of how video game systems continuously evolve, their popularity only seems to increase. Hop online and check out the new stuff today.

Hardware AMD Triple-core Phenom Processors Inbound
System makers to introduce tri-core AMD processors this week Roadmaps from AMD indicate Dell and Hewlett-Packard will introduce low-end computers based on triple-core AMD Phenom processors this week. Dell Optiplex computers, targeting the sub-$600 market, will be the first to receive the new triple-core treatment. HP Pavilion desktops will follow shortly after in the sub-$600 and sub-$500 segments. True to the botched announcement earlier this month, Dell will not introduce any of the new AMD processors in its Inspiron desktops. The new systems will begin to replace Optiplex and Pavilion computers that use AMD Athlon X2 dual-core processors. AMD was to discontinue the majority of its Athlon X2 lineup, but delays with its quad-core Phenom architecture continue to stretch the lifespan of its K8 architecture. The new triple-core processors, codenamed Toliman, will debut with frequencies as high as 2.3 GHz. Toliman processors feature all of the same capabilities of the high-end Agena processors with the exception of one disabled processor core. This includes 2MB of shared L3 cache and 512KB per core of unshared L2 cache.
